Are you ready to start or progress a writing project? This workshop will give you the skills and confidence to hit the ground running!

These workshops are for a small group of up to 11 participants, so there is lots of time for group discussion and questions, alongside a fun morning of learning. I am the author of four non-fiction memoirs and love to share all the top tips I’ve learned during my 35 year career in print and publishing with people just like you!

During the Writing Life Stories Your Way Workshop you will learn lots of practical tips, take part in some fun exercises, and put together a personalised Road Map, to guide you step-by-step towards crafting your own unique project, in the way that works best for you. You will leave with 30 pages of comprehensive course notes, which you can refer back to again and again to help you make your stories the best they can be.

The workshop runs for three-and-a-half hours. We can pre-order coffees/other drinks to enjoy on arrival, and will break for half-an-hour for lunch from 11.45am till 12.15pm, when you can order more drinks and food from the delicious cabinet options at Urban Revival.

Workshop highlights include:

  •  Defining the project/Your personal Road Map
  •  Elements of a great story – a checklist for your writing projects
  •  Memories and Brainstorming
  •  Writing the Personal Essay
  •  Finding your voice
  •  Characters and Plot Structure
  •  Research and Interviewing – gathering information and how to work with it
  •  Truth and Trauma – top tips for tackling both in your writing
  •  Editing, Proofreading and Design
  •  Printing and Publishing Options

Writing life or family stories doesn’t have to be daunting, and you don’t have to be an experienced writer to do it. I believe your stories are the ultimate gifts for future generations and I’ve created this workshop to give you the confidence and tools to get started on projects in a way that is unique to you. Imagine what a great sense of achievement you will feel once you start capturing your stories!

I'd love to help you or someone special you would love to gift this experience to, get pen to paper or fingers to keyboard!

Be quick - as there are limited spaces and these workshops sell out FAST!
