We had a fantastic trip to Sydney and central western NSW to launch The Long Way Home. It was great to see so many Old Fairbridgians turn out to support the book and the positive message it delivers on Fairbridge Farm School Molong and Mr and Mrs Woods. It was also wonderful to meet the four Woods children, Nyasa, Sir Robert, Memory and Raymund at the reunion. After 15 months researching and writing The Long Way Home, a highlight of the trip was our visit to the Fairbridge Farm School village itself, which is sadly in a state of disrepair these days. It is Ronnie’s vision to see it restored to its former glory to help today’s young people in need. Let’s hope that the Australian government, one of its agencies or a private developer could help this vision be realised.
